CPE Higher EDquity Symposium offers collaboration on urgent student needs

The Council on Postsecondary Education, in partnership with the University of Louisville, will hold the second annual Higher EDquity Symposium virtually on Nov. 9-10.

The symposium's theme, The Urgency of N.O.W. - No Opportunity Wasted, will center on how campuses can improve and expand existing student support services, especially those serving low-income and minority students. The event will also emphasize student mental health and academic needs amid the global pandemic and current racial tensions.

Featured speakers include University of Louisville President Neeli Bendapudi, CPE President Aaron Thompson and Tia Brown McNair, vice president in the Office of Diversity, Equity and Student Success at the Association of American Colleges and Universities. A student panel discussion and a session about UofL's Black Male EDquity Network are also on the agenda.
