State Board of Elections Receives Special Election Results

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 5, 2019) – The State Board of Elections has received unofficial results from the 31st district special election.  The 31st district includes Elliot, Martin, Lawrence, Morgan, and Pike Counties.

The seat was vacated by Sen. Ray Jones upon his election as Pike County Judge Executive. 

Results will be available here after they have been verified by the State Board of Elections.

Turnout:  

Registered (as of 2/15/19):  85,054

Voted: 11837

% turnout: 14%

 

Breakdown by County:

Elliott County: Pugh 450, Wheeler 168

Lawrence County: Pugh 639, Wheeler 895

Martin County: Pugh 265, Wheeler 688

Morgan County: Pugh 671, Wheeler 609

Pike County: Pugh 3624, Wheeler 3828

 

That adds up to a total of 6,188 votes for Wheeler and 5,649 votes for Pugh.
