The Council on Postsecondary Education will sponsor the 2013 Governor’s Conference on Postsecondary Education Trusteeship on September 12-13 at the Marriott Downtown, in Louisville, Ky.
“Building a Stronger Workforce through Postsecondary Education,” targeted toward university trustees and staff, will focus on higher education as a catalyst for workforce and economic development, exploring how colleges and universities help Kentucky compete in a knowledge economy driven by innovation and entrepreneurship.
The agenda includes presentations by Ted Abernathy, Executive Director of the Southern Growth Policies Board and Dr. Michael Crow, President of Arizona State University, as well as several panel discussions led by business and education leaders from across the Commonwealth and the nation.
Friday’s luncheon will feature an address by Lieutenant Governor Jerry Abramson, followed by the presentation of Acorn and Oak awards, which recognize distinguished Kentucky faculty and alumni.
Additional information about the conference, including a draft agenda, is available at http://cpe.ky.gov/. Registrations will be accepted until September 6.
