FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky photographer Mary S. Rezny, of Lexington, has been selected as the Kentucky Arts Council's featured artist for May.

Rezny, whose studio is in Lexington's Distillery District, is a photo-based mixed media artist. Inspired by nature and gardens, Rezny adds paint, collage and organic materials to her work, creating three-dimensional illustrations. Her work has also evolved to include the creation of sculptural artist books. Rezny's studio doubles as a gallery for regional, national and international artists.

To learn more about Rezny, visit the arts council's website at artscouncil.ky.gov. The feature page includes:

  • A story about Rezny's work.
  • A video of Rezny discussing her work.
  • A portfolio of her work in the Kentucky Crafted Directory.
  • Contact information for the artist.

The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
