Kentucky Arts Council selects Louisville composer as featured artist

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Jeremy Beck, of Louisville, a composer who has written scores for orchestra, voice, chamber music and opera, has been selected as the Kentucky Arts Council's Featured Artist for October.

Beck has a doctorate in composition from the Yale School of Music and master's degrees in composition from Duke University and the Yale School of Music. He has studied and taught at universities across the United States and in Russia and Ghana. He was a 2009 recipient of an Al Smith Fellowship from the arts council.
