Several Kentucky State Parks Honored By Kentucky Living

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Several Kentucky State Parks were honored in Kentucky Living magazine’s 2013 Best in Kentucky reader picks contest, published in the April issue.

 

“We appreciate the support we receive from our guests,” Parks Commissioner Elaine Walker said. “It’s great for our parks to be honored this way as we begin the spring and summer travel season.”

 

The magazine, which distributes 500,000 copies to members of the Kentucky Association of Electric Cooperatives, sought input from 1.2 million readers in 24 categories about what they like in Kentucky.

 

Included among the winners are the Boots Randolph Golf Course at Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz (best golf course); Lake Barkley State Resort Park (best weekend getaway); Cumberland Falls at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park near Corbin (best scenic view); and Perryville Battlefield State Historic Site (best Civil War site).

 

Other Kentucky State Parks honored with second- or third-place finishes were: General Burnside Island State Park Golf Course, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park, and Jefferson Davis State Historic Site.
