FRANKFORT, Ky. – “I traveled to Washington, D.C., yesterday to meet with Vice President Joe Biden on a number of issues. One major concern I brought to his attention is the future of the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant. I shared that one of our top priorities is to create a successful, productive and safe future for that facility and its 1,100 employees. The Vice President was receptive and planned to make inquiries to the Department of Energy about the plans for that facility.
“The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant is an incredibly valuable asset, and so are its workers. I will not allow this plant and its impact on the region to be overlooked. I will continue to champion this effort to every agency and individual I can to make sure we bring new jobs and safe cleanup to the Paducah plant.”
