The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea will host drawing, woodcarving and two different printmaking demonstrations during the month of June.

Stephen Wiggins will demonstrate printmaking on June 4. Wiggins will cut a linoleum block, and then will ink and print it onto both fabric and paper. His relief print “Preparation 3” is in the center’s exhibit “Great Impressions.”

Bill Berryman will demonstrate his drawing techniques at the center on June 11, using Staedtler-Mars German pencils, which are known for their rich quality of graphite.

Also on June 11, the center will offer two free guided gallery tours at 11 a.m. and again at 2 p.m. These tours detail and explain the center’s two exhibits, “Great Impressions: Prints by Kentucky Artisans” and “Kentucky Clay: A Continuing Tradition.”

The Berea Welcome Center Carvers will demonstrate their skills at the center on June 18. Specializing in a variety of woodcarving techniques and subjects, three members will show visitors their carving and painting skills.

Lexington printmaker Liz Foley will offer visitors a glimpse into her individual monotype printmaking techniques on Saturday, June 25. Her monotype print titled, “Mandala” is in the center’s exhibit “Great Impressions.”

The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located just off Interstate 75 at Exit 77. The center’s exhibit, shopping and travel information areas are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the cafe is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
