With this redesign there are now two subscription options; Standard (current) and Premium (optional). Below are a few frequently asked questions to help existing subscribers through this transition and help guide new subscribers. To become an OVIS subscriber ​or to ​upgrade your current Standard subscription, please find OVIS subscription information on the OVIS information page. ​OVIS FAQs​​​ - Standard​

​No. Your current subscription and fees continue as normal. 

​No. Current OVIS subscribers can use their existing Kentucky.gov accounts to access OVIS 2.0.

​Existing Standard OVIS subscribers can update to a Premium subscription by emailing a new Kentucky.gov Subscriber Agreement to support@kentucky.gov.

​Yes. Standard subscribers will not only receive a new look and feel but will also now be able to download a PDF report of a vehicle search. 

OVIS subscribers before the OVIS 2.0 release will now be classified as Standard subscribers.​

​No. Searches without results are not charged.

​No. Standard subscribers have the same fees as existing subscribers before the OVIS 2.0 upgrade.​

To become an OVIS subscriber, you must be a registered Kentucky.gov user using Kentucky.gov/register​ and authorized through one of the provisions of the DPPA. The Kentucky.gov subscriber agreement requires supplemental forms to declare which of the DPPA provisions authorizes you to access this information and to subscribe to the service. Please complete ​the Kentucky.gov Subscriber Agreement and the VTI Agreement, then email them to support@kentucky.gov.

When initiating a new search on a previously searched vehicle or for the first time, the results reflect what has been entered into the Motor Vehicle Licensing database.​ However, previous searches are accessible for 7 days for quicker retrieval and printing without initiating a new search.

After the vehicle search results are displayed, a ​Print Individual Records button will be available in the upper right corner.

When entering the VIN, separate the VINs with a comma and select the Add to Batch button. Once all the required VINs are added to the batch, initiate the search by selecting the Search button.

You will need to search the vehicles as a batch. When searching as a batch and reviewing the results, a Print Individual Record​ and a Print Batch button will be available in the upper right corner. The Print Batch functionality will generate a PDF report that includes all vehicles in the batch.

T​here is a checkbox next to the user list of the Kentucky.gov Subscriber Agreement. When this box is checked, a Kentucky.gov Help Desk Representative will update the permission level.
